Jewish institutions urgently need digital security.

Jewish communities are more vulnerable today than at any time in recent memory.

In the two months following Oct. 7, there were more than 2,000 antisemitic incidents in the U.S., a 337-percent increase over the same period the previous year.

  • Home addresses and phone numbers are easy to find online, leading to bomb threats and swatting attacks, in which police are tricked into raiding the homes and businesses of innocent people.

  • Adversaries are using online location data to compile maps of Jewish institutions and individuals, leading to doxxing attacks and physical threats.

  • Harassment is commonplace on social media.

  • Phishing attacks are on the rise.

  • Internal technical infrastructure like CRMs, document storage, email systems, and chat applications are often unwieldy, unprotected, and easy to infiltrate.

About Josh Levy and K’lal Digital Safety

Jewish organizations are facing major threats to their digital safety and security. Yet there is a lack of expertise, experience, and sensitivity in the sector, leaving communities and individuals open to all forms of digital harm.

Josh Levy founded K’lal Digital Safety to fill this gap, bringing a tailored and culturally-attuned approach to Jewish digital security and safety. He is a seasoned digital security expert with more than 15 years of experience working in digital security, technology advocacy, and human rights. He’s adept at managing complex internal dynamics, challenging external environments, and difficult technical problems to help ensure that vulnerable communities and institutions can safely operate and thrive online.

Every new chapter in Josh’s career has been driven by a crucible moment in our political system and our culture. In 2017, after a decade directing technology and human rights advocacy campaigns, Josh founded the Digital Security Exchange, a platform that connected cybersecurity experts with U.S. nonprofits in need of essential digital security support. In 2018 he co-founded Center for Digital Resilience, a global NGO that facilitates digital security support for human rights communities across the Middle East and Africa.

Josh is immersed in Jewish institutions and culture, and the Hamas massacre on Oct. 7, 2023 drove him to bring his cultural sensitivity, technical expertise, and strategic acumen to address the escalating digital security needs of Jewish institutions. Through K’lal Digital Safety, Josh deploys holistic technical assessments, end-to-end safety interventions, and long-term, sustainable solutions for digital safety.
